Town & Country Grill was listed in the Green Book in 1961. It was listed as “Town & Country Grill — 242 Lincoln Street, The Best Home Cooked Food.” 1

The Town & Country Grill was listed in the Green Book in 1961, but it did not appear in Concord’s city directory until 1963. The business was also listed at 242 Lincoln Street – an address that does not appear in the city directory (the street directory skips from 238 Lincoln to 246 Lincoln).2

Mrs. Rosie S. Ford operated the Town & Country Grill at 248 Lincoln in 1963. Samuel Handy operated a business called Handy’s Soda Shop at this address in 1959, and, by 1962, the building was vacant. Little information has been located about Mrs. Ford, who is only listed in the directory as the owner of Town & Country Grill and is not located elsewhere in the city directory.3
