Due to concerns regarding the weather forecast, the Commission decided to cancel the Rooted: Sowing Seeds of Freedom Tour originally scheduled for Saturday, February 15th. This event will be rescheduled for Saturday, February 22nd, at 2:00 PM.
There is no requirement for participants to register again for the tour on February 22nd. If you have already registered, we look forward to welcoming you next Saturday, Feb. 22. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at ncaahc@dncr.nc.gov.

Join us for a special tour of Freedom Park, followed by a planting activity highlighting your definition of freedom and how it relates to nurturing hope and growth in our community.
After an interpreter-led group tour of Freedom Park, the following activity asks participants to reflect on what they've learned about Freedom Park and universal values like freedom and justice. Participants will use pots to represent their "voice of freedom" and what "roots" them or what values are important to them. Each participant will receive a plant pot kit and instructions for caring for the plant at home.
Refreshments will be available for participants of the activity.
