Douglas’ Beauty Parlor was located in Sanford. It was listed in the Green Book as “Douglas’---310 Wall St.” under “Beauty Parlors” from 1947-1952.1

Douglas’ Beauty Parlor, located in Sanford, was open as early as 1946. An advertisement from that year stated that the beauty parlor was operated by Elizabeth Douglas in Good’s Building at 310 Wall Street and that it specialized in “individual hair styles.” The business was likely closed prior to 1950 and was only open for a brief time; neither Douglas nor her business appear in directory records after 1950, nor was Douglas found in the 1940 census for Sanford. The 300 block of Wall Street does not appear in the city directory after 1950.2
