Event Description

Join StoryCenter, the National Park Service Underground Railroad Network to Freedom and the NC African American Heritage Commission for this FREE workshop! 

Video storytelling has become a new form of communication, ideal for the social media age that we are actively a part of. Connect to the leaders of the digital storytelling movement and experience the transformative power of digital storytelling!

This in-depth workshop includes:

  • Introduction to the Seven Steps of Digital Storytelling
  • Group sharing and feedback in a facilitated Story Circle
  • Script writing and voice recording
  • Image preparation and storyboarding
  • Video editing: transitions, effects, music, and titles
  • Support on the production of a two to four-minute digital story centered around freedom-seeking.
  • Group screening of digital stories

Please note: Available slots are limited. Registration preference will be given to Network to Freedom members/applicants. If you are not an NTF member, you will be waitlisted and notified of your registration status on October 25, 2019. Registration ends November 1, 2019 at 5:00 p.m.

Cost: Free tuition; participants cover own travel and lodging. Parking passes will be provided.

Equipment Requirement: Bring your own laptop and earbuds/headphones. No special software needed.
